Welcome to the official Samz School of Music website! We are also better known as Samz School of Rock! We are the original School of Rock for Monterey County and are currently in our third year of the official Summer Rock Camp!
Samz School of Rock is an affiliation of Samz School of Music, Inc., a California non-profit Corporation under the guidelines of Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Samz School promotes the study of various styles of music not only Rock but also R & B, Pop, Classic Rock, Alternative and of course original music. Samz School is dedicated to help enrich the lives of our youth by providing a child with a positive atmosphere, promoting a child’s self- esteem and confidence through accomplishment. Samz School offers individual and group music instruction for students ages 8 to 16 years of age. We offer affordable after school programs and summer camps for young musicians at all levels from beginning to advanced. Our goal is to provide and develop music programs for students interested in the study of music, including without limitation to the fundamentals of music theory, style, vocal and stage performance and also teach the basics in musical recording. Our school benefits Monterey County by providing youth a positive environment in which they can flourish and build friendships with their peers who share an interest in music. We help youth become responsible young adults and future productive citizens in our community. Through our summer music camps we have assembled year-around performing youth bands and they have performed at various community events to name a few:
Monterey County Rock & Rod Festival at Monterey Fairgrounds, Monterey County Fair and Santa Cruz County Fair, Kidsfest 2009 and 2010, Pacific Grove Good Ole Days Festival, Salinas Relay for Life, Salinas Art & Music Festival, Partners for Peace Event, Peacock Acres Foster Youth Event, Rancho Cielo Youth Organization, First Friday at the Salinas Fox Theater, Salinas Food & Wine Festival, Laguna Seca Raceway event for the Salinas Jaycees and Monterey County Young Professionals Group.
Our students come from all areas of Monterey County and various public and private schools to collaborate together and build a healthy musical environment and lasting friendships. Thus, we help Monterey County in the quest for great ways to help our youth and prevent them from falling through the cracks which may lead them to turn to violence and gang problems.

HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT OUR NEW SAMZ SCHOOL OF ROCK BAND PROGRAM!?
Want to be part of the kids who Rock Monterey County? We are pleased to announce the Samz School of Rock Band Program. We have been coaching student bands for the past year and a half and our bands have been so successful, they have been performing year around for various community events.
More inquires have been coming in from several community organizations about having Samz School of Rock Bands perform at their events. We only ask that the organization give a donation to Samz School of Music for our instructors time and expense in providing a year around band program. We have decided to continue our year around band program with the following guidelines:
Students of Samz School of Rock who are currently taking private music lessons at our office are strongly encouraged to be part of our band program. As always, our private music lessons are the same reasonable rate of $25 per half hour and $50 per hour. We offer private lessons (one on one) for guitar, drums, keyboard, bass guitar and vocals.
The band program is open to all students currently taking private music lessons at our school. Students pay a monthly membership of $25 per month to participate in our band program. All monthly membership dues are due on the 1st of each month. Payments are accepted either by check made out to Samz School of Music or cash and soon we will be setting up a Pay Pal account through our website.
Student bands will hold practices at our office located at 1111 North Main St., Ste. G. Salinas, CA twice a month or more if need be. Band rehearsals are usually scheduled during the week and start at round 6:00 or 6:30 p.m. Rehearsals run about an hour or an hour and a half. Students must attend all band practices to be able to perform at the upcoming events. Click on our Events Page above to see when we will have our student bands performing next.
Samz School will promote the student bands by scheduling performances at community events such as Monterey County Fair, Monterey Rock N Rod Festival, Salinas Relay for Life, Monterey Kidsfest, etc. along with several fundraisers throughout the year. New venues for performances are forthcoming. We also have been working on recording our student bands and will be producing a CD which will be available to the public as well.
